Just a quick one to share a couple of my latest basics. As you know I love me some basics, and with the change of season comes wardrobe reassessments, and the need to downgrade and replace some everyday items. This is the Named Geneva raglan tee. I was drawn to this pattern by those lovely curved shoulder seams. I know raglans are definitely more a casual style, especially if made in contrast fabrics, but I thought it was worth a crack in some nice wool knit and I'm very happy with it. It has a few little details that definitely elevate it above the casual. I do wish I'd worn a different bra for these pics, but meh.

Remember my blathering excitement last year when I happened upon a vintage skirt pattern with a nifty little drafting feature that allowed me to do easy-as-pie french seamed in-seam pockets? I didn't do a particularly good job of explaining it I'm afraid. But after finding the same type of pockets in my recent Fujiyama Mama frock I was determined do a quick and dirty step-by-step tutorial for you......

C'est La Vie (because disappointment always sounds better in french) and a twice recycled $5 in Paris
How was your Easter long weekend wherever you were in the world? Mine ended up lovely, but the start was rather shitful. As briefly mentioned in my last post my guy had been working hard to get Sunny all jazzed up for our big holiday of the year, a mega road trip up to Byron Bay Blues Fest, an 18 hour drive north of Melbourne.
We had such high hopes. We were looking forward to a nice slow cruise up north, a few days of camping and awesome music with friends, and an equally slow cruise home. I was determined to tick off a large number Big Things on our road trip (many Australian country towns over the last 4 decades developed a peculiar need to create a large tacky Thing for their town - an exhaustive list can be found here).
Big Thing 1 - the Big Cherries (Young, New South Wales).
Big Thing 2 - The Big Golden Guitar (Tamworth, New South Wales).
Big Thing 3 - The Big Disappointment (Glen Innes, New South Wales).
