Another day, another B5211. I think I need a little intervention with this pattern, having made it now 5 or 6 times! I did similar mods to my last version - more room over the hips and an elasticated waist. This one is a lovely rayon, black with flying cream birds that I got from Darn Cheap Fabrics earlier in the year (they have a great range of printed rayons at the moment BTW. Just saying.) and I've enough left over to make a nice gathered swishy skirt at some point (maybe next Autumn - I need another skirt like a hole in the head!).

I do love gingham, but I firmly believe there comes a time in one's life when one has to be a little more..... considered.... when matching gingham with an appropriate outfit or pattern. I do believe I am winning the battle between myself and trouser construction. My recent Elle pants have been a great success, worn at least once or twice a week to work (sadly the cheap and nasty fabric is pilling appallingly, but version 2.0 is in the planning stages). I'm pretty happy with this pair too, a wearable muslin, Burda 7250...

As mentioned in my last post I recently had a birthday, and was the very lucky recipient of some fabulous sewing related gifts, from friends, family and.... myself! Gifts to self are an essential part of the birthday experience I think, don't you?! Now I warn you this is a long, rambling waffling post (I've had plenty of time to waste this weekend) but I rather like reading other sewists sewing plans, so hopefully it's not too dull!
