A new year, a new world.....

Oh hello lovely people! How are you? How has 2018 been for you thus far? It's sometimes hard for me to believe that we are nearly 2 months into the new year already. I've been busy of course, so immensely busy with this small person of extreme gorgeousness.... my little love Max.

This little guy was born on the 8th of December and of course our world has changed forever. He's nearly 12 weeks old and I'm now at the point where I can surface a little from the deep ocean of adjusting to life with a newborn. I've just started to get back into a little bit of sewing and knitting which has made me inordinately happy. As Zoe recently wrote in a fantastic post making or being creative really is an extremely important component in maintaining mental health and a sense of self and as such I'm determined to create in the snatches of time that I do have here and there - 30 minutes one day, an hour the next....

I made a heap of things during my maternity leave that I will be blogging in the coming (let's be real) months.... some successful, some not so great, but if you follow me on Instagram you may have seen a few of them pop up already. Some for me, some for the little guy.

As someone said to me recently often the days are long but the weeks fly by so fast.... Hopefully it won't be another 3 months before I post here!

  1. Wow cogratulations. Max is a real cutie! Hope you do find some " me" time to be creative, it is a juggle bur worth it. It is easy to be so focused on looking after others ( children, parents, partner etc.) that we often forget to look after ourselves!

  7. Welcome Max! My little man Jude arrived just a few days earlier on his Pop's birthday.
At 12weeks old today I'm finally carving out some me time at the machine also inspired by Zoe's post. .....when the stars align and baby and 1yr old nap at the same time!
